- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: From Ship to Front Line. DESCRIPTION: To maintain the supply of oil and petrol to the allied armies in Italy a brilliant new innovation is being used, a pipeline. The pipelines can be laid quickly and extended as the front advances. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Elevated shot of drum of oil being unloaded from ships hold, GV of hold. GV of American Army van driving off quay loaded with oil or petrol. GV Stacks of oil drums. GV of storage tanks, men working on same repairing them (US Engineers). GS, various of tanker at quayside, with pipelines, from ship, to storage tanks, GS of booster pumps, & pipelines, pumps running. GS of American troops laying oil & petrol pipelines overland, & rivers. Lorry diving out of camera, men laying in line on ground, MS of engineer, tightening nuts attaching pipelines. Various shots showing country through which pipeline travels, right to front line. GS of stacks of petrol cans, being filled & stacked.
