MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: These Are the Men. DESCRIPTION: Arising from the Tehran Conference are the names of the British and American leaders entrusted with high responsibility in the coming "second front" operations. General Eisenhower is to lead the combined British and American expeditionary forces, with Air Chief Marshal Sir Arthur Tedder as his Deputy. General Montgomery will command the British Armies and Admiral Sir Bertram Ramsay the Allied Naval Forces. SHOTLIST: Cut story - GS of Big Three on steps of Soviet Embassy. GS of three seated, Roosevelt in civilian clothes. Churchill in Air Force uniform. CU of three, Stalin, Roosevelt. Churchill. CU of Eisenhower, & SV of him taken in Middle East. Tedder gets out of plane. CU of him on aerodrome. CU Montgomery, two shots. GS of Admiral Ramsay walking along Whitehall entering building. CU Ramsay (slight out of focus). CU Leigh-Mallory. Two CUs of General Spaatz. Spaatz presenting medals to Americans. CU & GS of Maitland Wilson, GS & CU of Devers. CU Alexander, fade to beaches of Italy showing landing of our troops. Various shots of North African landing, British troops come ashore from LCI & larger craft, with gangways down each side of bows. 5.5 gun being brought ashore. Explosions around as troops land. US Troops land on beaches, one runs up with American flag. Soldier signals to craft off beach in semaphore. More shots of craft landing on beach. British troops jumping off. CU types (panning) of airmen, GS of groups of sailors for types. CU types of soldiers.
