- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Cairo - Conference & Parade. DESCRIPTION: The second Cairo Conference was attended by President Inonu of Turkey, his first meeting with President Roosevelt. Mr Churchill took time off to inspect his old regiment, the Fourth Hussars. SHOTLIST: Cut story - LS of Mena House, with sign in fore ‘Road Closed’. British MP checking cars, searching civilians, also Arab carrying "Eysh" (Arabic loaves). GS of group in fore seated are Mr Roosevelt, President Inonu, & Mr Churchill. Behind them standing can be seen, Mr Eden, Dill, Brooke, Portal. Cunningham, Arnold, Marshall, & several Turkish members unnamed. CU of Roosevelt, Inonu, & Churchill (in civilian clothes). GS of tank brigade paraded, with pyramids in background. Various shots of Churchill in uniform of Colonel in Chief of 4th Hussars, inspecting same, very good shots of him walking through ranks. His arrival for the inspection he is accompanied by his daughter & son. Mr Churchill being escorted by Lt General Stone. GS as soldiers rush to gather round Churchill, while he makes a speech, (silent). CU Churchill. Various shots as march-past of tanks, one having the name of ‘Churchill’ on same. Pyramids in background, with Churchill are again his son & daughter. PM taking salute. CU Churchill.
