Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Russian Front. DESCRIPTION: The Red Army is surging forward on a six hundred mile front, stretching from West of Orel down to the sea of Azov. The summer of 1943 has already seen the deepest penetrations yet made of the German 1941 line. SHOTLIST: Russian troops fighting in swamped meadows. Infantry race across country. Shot of barrage at night. Wrecked German equipment and abandoned. Firing artillery. Women of the medical corps across country and tending wounded. Troops forward through river. Infantry advance. Dead Nazis. Prisoners out of trench and marched through fields. Explosions. Fires. Elevating a searchlight. Russians with inflated rubber belts round them wade through river with rifles ‘at ready’.
