Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The "Mosquito" (DH98). DESCRIPTION: The "DH98" or "Mosquito" has been one of the success stories of the war. Its construction of lightweight wood gives it the advantage of speed. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Interior pan of drawing office shows draughtsmen at work, also CU of drawing of Mosquito & a model. In factory, camera moves between assembly lines (effective shot). Various shots of Mosquito (component parts). Carpenter sawing wood, with circular saw various mixes showing different angles. CU worker inspecting piece of wood, also fuselage being attached to chassis. Engine being fixed. MS of undercarriage, shows testing of bombs dropping onto ground (testing mechanism). Finished Mosquito being towed onto aerodrome, & GS of same, shows group of test pilots, designer etc. in front of Mosquito. To be seen in the group is Mr Geoffrey de Havilland. (Prior to this is shot in yard of furniture factory, showing partly finished fuselage, also girls sand papering plane). SSV of Mosquito taking off and over camera. Several shots above clouds (very good) especially for background. Various shots of plane in air & CU of same, also a few flying together. TO into camera & CU of Mosquito. Aerial shots of condensation trails & Mosquito above clouds.
