Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Helicopter. DESCRIPTION: From the autogiros of previous decades has developed the helicopter. The newest of these has just been adopted by the US Army Air Force. SHOTLIST: CU of helicopter taking off vertically, remains poised in mid-air. GS of plane at speed, also landing vertically. Cut story - Mechanical bird set in flight, flying & landing, as other "bird" pick up a small dog by his side bites at wings. Autogiro in flight lands on roof of building, also TO. Several shots of Giros flying in lines & formation. CU Helicopter engine turning, Helicopter takes off vertically at an Arena in Germany, remains poised in mid-air. (All preceding is Library material). Latest US Helicopter TO vertically, in flight, previous to this another piece of Library Material is an American Helicopter TO, pilot has Trilby hat on, which remains on head. Latest Helicopter lands & passenger jumps off, pilot then climbs again, in flight, & eventually lands vertically.
