MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Colonel in Chief HRH Princess Elizabeth. DESCRIPTION: Princess Elizabeth carried out her first solo public engagement when she inspected the Grenadier Guards. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Grenadier Guards marching through camp, trees each side of lane, led by band of drums & fifes. Marching into camera onto field. Princess Elizabeth out of car (centre of field - parade ground) shakes hands with receiving officer, her Lady in Waiting out behind her. Escorted to dais Elizabeth onto same, officer on ground by her side, order given "present arms" LS MS of same, very good. SV of soldiers marching long lines. Being inspected, Elizabeth walks into camera, GS of march past, & finishes with CU Elizabeth. Cut story - Elizabeth shaking hands with officers & cadets from Eton College.
