- The Commander in Chief is received at the Jaffa Gate by the British Military Governor of Jerusalem. "Reception of the Religious and civil dignitaries". "Entering by the Jaffa Gate". "'When the Nile flows into Palestine the Prophet (Al Nebi) from the west shall drive the Turks from Jerusalem’ (Arab Prophecy)". "A proclamation by the C in C was read guaranteeing Religious Freedom to all. Representative detachments march through the streets of Jerusalem". "Allenby entering Jerusalem". "In the City itself the populace filled the streets. Expressions of joy that the city had been delivered from the Turks were evident on every side". "Two Days later on December 11th Lord Allenby and representatives of the United States, France, Italy and the Allies made their formal entry into Jerusalem through the Historic Jaffa Gate".
