- [1ST SUBTITLE]: "Jerusalem 11th December 1917." Crowds in Jerusalem street. Camera pans from left to right, then tilts up for view along crowded street. Locals sitting by clock tower. Camera tilts upwards. [2ND SUBTITLE]: "Commander-in-Chief received at the Jaffa Gate by the British Military Governor of Jerusalem". View down street as troops march down it on either side. Close shot of waiting British troops. [3RD SUBTITLE]: "General Sir Edmund Allenby, Commander-in-Chief, EEF, entering the Holy City accompanied by the Allied Commanders and military attaches". Allenby walking at the head of a column of officers; those with him include Lieutenant-Colonel P de Piepape of the French Army and F d’Agostio of the Italian Army. The group following them includes Lieutenant-Colonel Lord Dalmeny, Lieutenant-Colonel AP Wavell, French diplomat François Georges-Picot, Major TE Lawrence ('Lawrence of Arabia’), Major General Sir Louis Jean Bols, Lieutenant-General Sir Philip Chetwode and Brigadier-General Guy Payan Dawnay (Allenby’s chief of staff).
