- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Rose V Leek Soccer International (England beat Wales 5-3). DESCRIPTION: The King and Queen were at Wembley for the Soccer International between England and Wales. The match was in aid of "Prisoners of War" and "Aid to Russia". The victory was England’s by five goals to three. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Crowds (small) crossing empty car park, shot of cycle part full with bicycles. Two Spitfires flying over. Crowd shots in stands, teams coming out together. King shaking hands with teams. MS of Hapgood & Turner, with G Reader (referee) tossing coin. Kick off, various shots of play. Compton coming in with ball passes across goal to Carter who nets. Lowrie scoring for Wales. Several goals scored by Westcott & also by Lowrie. Pigeons being released from baskets (Wings for Victory) GS of them in flight.
