- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Tripoli Today. DESCRIPTION: As soon as the Eighth Army occupied Tripoli the civilian population began to return to the city. The streets there begin to return to normal, although the harbour area is still showing the signs of allied bombing. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Caravans entering city, conveying civilians who are returning, to their homes. CU Milestone, ‘1 mile Tripoli’. Various elevated shots of city, also shots of harbour with sunken ships, soldiers in fore look over parapet. Soldiers wearing tam doing sentry go. British troops sightseeing, some riding others walk, looking at statue (unnamed). Various elevated shots of modern Tripoli with its white buildings. Italian policeman on point duty, who has been allowed to continue his job.
