- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Bostons & Baltimores Over Cairo. DESCRIPTION: The USAAF and the RAF continue to attack and strafe [sic] Rommel’s positions to aid the advancing Eighth Army. SHOTLIST: Pan of Americans erecting tents. Americans erecting ‘pup’ tent. Americans building field kitchen. Americans jumping from trucks on arrival at site. Yanks laying out aerodrome boundary. Americans enter picture, remove helmets & wash in them, others unload stores from truck. Bombs being loaded on trailer. B25 taxies to take off. B25 taxiing out. Mass take off of B25 & Bostons, various angle shots of same, including elevated. Various aerial formations, from all angles. Observer plotting course; CU pilot & co-pilot. B25 in flight prior to bombing. B25 Flight bomb doors open. CU Bomb releaser being pulled. Bombs falling, bombs on target, showing bursts. Bombadier, instrument in hand is an intercom mike switch. Aerial shot of formation returning. Fighter escorted Bostons & Baltimores. Fighters over Delta approaching Cairo. Fighters crossing Nile. Fighters over outskirts of Cairo. Fighters over desert. From ground - Fighter escorted Bostons & Baltimores over Alexandria. In flight over harbour. Aerial shot of mass take off, extremely good photography. Majority of flight are very good. Not able to recognise fighters, believe they were Spitfires, but weren’t very good shots.
