Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Japanese Submarine in Sydney Harbour. DESCRIPTION: The attack on Sydney Harbour by Japanese submarines last May was a complete flop. SHOTLIST: GV of Harbour. GV of Coastal Guns firing. CU of tramp steamer that was hit by torpedo. Shot of Navy salvaging submarine which was hit in action, one of the torpedoes still being jammed in the tube. Shot of Submarine on its end. Also included in this story was a CU of Mr Godfrey (a journalist), seated at a table and making a speech about the attack. Also shots of Japanese Cadets going up the rigging of a ship (in peace time) and of two Japanese officers. One or two night shots. There were CUs of some of the survivors. Shot of a wrecked ferry-boat.
