Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Nazi Spies Round About. DESCRIPTION: The FBI in America have rounded up German spies who were intent on sabotage. SHOTLIST: The Federal Bureau of Investigation, exterior scenes. Shots inside of J Edgar Hoover. Shots of a U-boat surfacing, (probably from their library). Periscope cleaving through the water and interior of U-Boat. Stills of dump of explosives. Many draft-credentials and forged cards. Stills of the spies, which included Herbert Haupt and Ernst Burger, who are both American citizens and, therefore, traitors as well as spies. FBI Round Up Spy Ring - CARD 42601 CU of J Edgar Hoover of the FBI. Scenes on Florida sands where cases of TNT, detonator cap, etc., are buried. At the FBI head-quarters you see the uniforms that the spies have buried, also a money belt. Apparently innocent blocks which contain detonator caps and pencils, which are in reality incendiary bombs. One of these pencils is ignited. The story ends with shot of Hoover. Nazi Spy Trial - CARD 42619 The men arrive at the Capitol in vans. Attorney General Biddle arrives and so does Mrs Gerrard Melind, former fiancée of Herbert Haupt.
