Summary
Pathe synopsis: Ancient skills are still carried on at factories in Perivale and Uxbridge where they make wallpapers and fabrics. Hand block printing that Caxton created is still best for special wallpaper work and some colour-mixing is a primitive pour-and-stir event, though there are machines that can handle twenty colours at the same time. It’s a whirling world of colour as fabrics are printed in a machine-mad era. And these days your furniture covers and curtains can be the same pattern as your wallpaper to give a perfect match.
