Summary
Pathe synopsis: Following, literally, in the footsteps of founder James Pollock [Jackson Pollock?] is art student William Green, who specialises in "action painting". Mr Green’s equipment consists of a square of hardboard, a pot of black bitumen, a bicycle with a flat tyre and a pair of rubber-soled shoes. The hardboard is placed on the floor, the paint is thrown on, then well-brushed-in with the back wheel of the cycle. Mr Green stamps on the picture until the desired effect has been achieved. A light dusting of sand adds contrast to the texture. Occasionally Mr Green sets fire to his work to heighten the effect!
