Summary
Pathe synopsis: Back in the days of sail a Dr Patrick Colquhoun formed a police force to combat the widespread looting of cargo ships moored in the Thames. From that force the Thames River Police was born, a body of highly trained men with a wide range of duties. This reconstruction of a life-saving incident vividly illustrates only one of the many emergencies they may have to deal with on their daily round.
