Commentary: Even more important to an army in the desert is water. Its rationed, of course, but troops near the coast often get extra rations by distilling their own drinking water from the sea water. Its boiled in a large drum, the fuel is waste oil and the steam goes through pipes to condensers. One shot shows the board being taken down and the "Pilots’" substituted for "Officers".
