Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Visit to Plymouth. DESCRIPTION: Their Majesties visited the Dockyard in Plymouth and after their departure the city was again the victim of a Nazi raid. SHOTLIST: Their Majesties are received by Admiral Sir Martin Dunbar-Nasmith. They visit the dockyard and go aboard a destroyer where Captain Lord Louis Mountbatten welcomes them. A Polish officer is decorated with the DSO. Censored - The Polish Captain’s name is Hulewicz and the destroyer visited is HMS "Kelly". In this story the K&Q inspect an indian guard of honour. Plymouth’s Big Blitz - CARD 40549 Various night shots showing the fires, firemen, and wreckage. Censored - Places photographed include: Drake’s Circus, St Andrew’s Church, The Guildhall, Post Office and George street.
