Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Australians Rapid Advance to Derna. DESCRIPTION: The Australians advance across the Western deserts towards Derna. SHOTLIST: Trucks and artillery move up, by-passing destroyed bridges. Artillery pounds away at the enemy while a Westland "Lysander" does the spotting. The infantry advance and go to ground as an Italian machine-gun opens fire. Gladiators and Hurricanes patrol the skies while signallers run out telephone wires and the Brigadier looks down onto the captured town. Hundreds of prisoners were taken and one is interviewed - he said he had never heard of Australia!
