Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Mixed Patrol Into Abyssinia. DESCRIPTION: The Emperor Haile Selassie has returned to Abyssinia. Kassala has been re-captured and the Italians pursued deep into Eritrea. General Sir Archibald Wavell having captured Tobruk continues to deal with Grazini’s army. SHOTLIST: The Indian Patrol receive their orders from their Colonel and move off, while the Camel and Mounted Infantry patrol receive theirs from an English officer. The three patrols work in co-operation in patrolling Eritrea and Abyssinia. The pass into enemy country. The Indian patrol proceed by lorry, but have to wade through the River Atbara, towing the pontoon. The patrol proceeds and meet at a certain point later in Abyssinia. The sergeant scans the enemy lines. Also were included shots of General Sir Archibald Wavell inspecting troops; Abyssinian troops being inspected by an Australian officer from CARD 40069 "Abyssinian Front Engagement". Middle East Successes - CARD 40381 Shots of Haile Selassie, with his two sons inspecting a map. Ethiopian troops under the command of Australian Officers. The camel corps advance, and infantry come up behind, and wade through a river. Shot of General Wavell talking with troops and of Mr Churchill making his famous speech when Italy entered the war.
