Summary

the International Offshore Powerboat Race - the Big One. Fifty three foaming wakes trailed behind the sleek, but sturdy craft as they streaked along the 236 mile course. There were many casualties, though conditions were better than had been predicted. A record-breaking victory eventually went to American, Don Aronow, and his boat, "The Cigarette", at a fantastic average of 66 mph.
