Summary

Reckoned by many to be the fun centre of the North. But it was very serious business which brought Labour Party executives and delegates to the seaside - the 67th Annual Conference. From the very first there was trouble; dissension among union delegates over the Prices and Incomes policy. There was also trouble from demonstrators who burst into the hall to shout their complaints.
