Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Hardy Men Home. DESCRIPTION: Londoners give a terrific hand to the survivors of HMS "Hardy" and "Eclipse". SHOTLIST: The men march onto the Horse Guards parade where Mr Churchill is present with Admiral of the Fleet Sir Dudley Pound. Mr Churchill addresses them. Men march. One of the men is very fat and nearly all are dressed in Norwegian clothes. Churchill’s Speech: "Your countrymen are well content with the manner in which you have discharged your duty. We welcome you here for yourselves and rejoice to show you how heartily we feel towards you and ... during this Summer to purge and cleanse the soil of the Vikings, the soil of Norway, from the filthy pollution of Nazi Germany".
