Summary
Governor of Burma meets Burmese leaders on board a British warship to discuss Burma’s future. In Rangoon men of the 14th celebrate with a victory march their hard-fought triumph over the Japanese. Lord Louis Mountbatten takes the salute. West Africans, Indians, Gurkhas, British Marines and men of County battalions take part in the march-past. General William Slim (in Pathe’s studio) speaks on the war situation. He says: The war against Japan is going well ... we have had our own successes but the Japanese is a tough enemy ... Nothing can stop us winning ...
