- Summary
- A six-pounder gun fitted to Mosquito aircraft made it one of the war’s most effective U-boat killers. First operational use of the six-pounder carrying aircraft was in November 1943. Another British plane is the Gloster-Meteor. These jet-propelled planes favoured by pilots for their speed and manoeuvrability were used to combat the flying bomb. Thanks to the RAF was made in Copenhagen when a gala day was held in the capital and a big air display and march past by RAF units was held before the Queen of Denmark.
