Summary
At an American evacuation hospital outside Cherbourg, German nurse POWs await repatriation to Germany. In a court room in Cherbourg, two Frenchmen are on trial accused of treason. They are sentenced to life imprisonment with hard labour. American troops close in on the town of La Haye Du Puits, while British and Canadian troops advance into the town of Caen. In the town the lyceum has been converted into a hospital and adjoins the Abbey St Etienne where the remains of William the Conqueror are buried. French flag is raised in front of lyceum.
