- Summary
- King, Queen and Princess Elizabeth on a two day visit to RAF and American Air Force stations. A Bomber Command Lancaster has an 8,000 lb bomb loaded into it watched by the royal group. The King presents medals to RAF officers while the Queen talks to WAAF personnel. They meet air crews who have just returned from a mission. At a US Air Force base they are greeted by General Doolittle. A squadron of Fortresses passes overhead while planes on the ground are inspected by the group. Princess Elizabeth with the aid of a bottle of cider christens a Fortress, "Rose of York".
