Summary
Bulldozers go to work in the ruined village of Jouaye Mondaye levelling out bombed buildings, etc. A picture of Hitler is used by two GIs as darts practice. US troops attend service at a small church accompanied by young French orphan children. In a cemetary graves of allied French troops are tended by French women, plenty of flowers in evidence. In comparison another cemetary shows rough crosses which mark where German dead are buried.
