Stockshot library which includes the collections of the RSPB, TV-AM, the Christian Television Corporation, WPA Film Library and TIDA public information films. In Autumn 2011 the Film Archive Forum relaunched as Film Archives UK. Film Archives UK represents the UK’s public sector film and television archives (the BFI’s National Film and Television Archive, the Imperial War Museum Film & Video Archive, the Scottish Screen Archive, the National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales, and the various English regional film archives). These archives care for the moving image heritage of the nation, collecting, preserving and providing access to screen history from the birth of film to the present day. The site includes policy documents, guides to access (including online delivery), and advice on aspects of film archiving.

The Yorkshire Film Archive locates, preserves and exhibits film made in, or about, the Yorkshire region. The site contains details of over 3,000 films and videos from the Archive’s collection of over 16,000 titles. These include documentaries, newsreels, advertising films, and home movie collections, all capturing the rich moving image heritage of the region over the past one hundred years. YFA Online also includes over 60 hours of digitised film clips and additional contextual information.
The YFA is member of the Film Archives UK body (formerly Film Archives Forum), the organisation that represents the UK’s public sector film and television archives. In October 2012 the Yorkshire Film Archive merged with the North East Film Archive (formerly the Northern Region Film Archive) under the Yorkshire Film Archive banner and charity but - in recognition of the two regions’ distinct identities - the two archives do retain their own regional titles and separate websites.

The BUFVC promotes the use of moving images and related media in UK higher education and research. The site includes access to a number of databases: Find DVDs, the Researcher’s Guide Online (RGO), News on Screen (incorporating BUND, the British Universities Newsreel Database), Television & Radio Index for Learning and Teaching (TRILT), BoB - Box of Broadcasts, several Independent Radio Collections and TV Times 1955-1985 (TVTiP). There is information on BUFVC courses and conferences, educational films for sale, details of BUFVC publications, and news and events covering the BUFVC and its member institutions.

The Motion Picture division of the Library of Congress has its catalogue available online as part of the general LoC catalogue, searchable by title, name, subject or special keyword. Sound recordings can also be found among the vast catalogue of over twelve million bibliographic records representing books, serials, computer files, manuscripts, cartographic materials, music, sound recordings, and visual materials (still and moving).

The British Pathé newsreel archive contains over 90,000 individual film items spanning the period 1896 - 1976. Stories cover all aspects of 20th century social history including news, fashion, sport, entertainment, travel and warfare. The collection has been digitised and is available for free online preview in low resolution. Members of the public may purchase high resolution clips for download, and registered educational users can download clips for free use within the classroom. In April 2014 the entire Pathé archive was made freely available on YouTube.

Nova is is an American television series on popular science, produced by WGBH Boston. Programmes already broadcast are available for online viewing, with credits and transcripts supplied. Clips of forthcoming programmes are available for preview. The collection is searchable by broadcast date or broad topic under the headings ancient world, body & brain, evolution, military & espionage, nature, physics & math, planet earth, space & flight, and tech & engineering.

Research-TV was created by the University of Warwick to provide broadcasters with a regular news feed of stories about cutting-edge research. It divides its programmes up into Health, Technology, Society, Science and Nature, Business, and Creative and Cultural. Each comes with synopsis, transcript, links, and the programme in narrowband or broadband options (using Windows Media Player). All stories produced by Research-TV’s news professionals are made available to broadcasters free of charge through the APTN service, on local ends for UK broadcasters and London-based foreign correspondents, with additional tape distribution upon request. All stories are available for preview online on the website, on other online video sites (YouTube, Public.TV, OSTN), and also as vodcasts on iTunes.
