Proceedings from the British parliament have been streamed live since February 2002. The service uses Windows Media Player or RealPlayer and offers live webcasts of the House of Commons, the House of Lords, Westminster Hall, and Select Committees. A schedule shows what sessions are coming up over the week, and which of these will be audio or video streamed. The material is then available from an on-demand archive going back to 1 July 2009. The site also streams a number of films commissioned by Parliament explaining its role and the way in which it works.

The RSA (Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce) works to remove the barriers to social progress. It drives ideas, innovation and social change through an ambitious programme of projects, events and lectures. These lectures, available as live webcasts, streamed video or audio, and podcasts, feature some of the world’s most influencial thinkers such as Steven Pinker, and cover a wide range of topics such as whether scientists get the media they deserve, the science of persuasion, secularism, and restructuring the global economy for a sustainable future. There is also a series of podcast interviews with Royal Designers. A particularly notable new addition is the ingenious RSA Animate series, which includes animated interpretations of essays from the likes of Philip Zimbardo, Jeremy Rifkin and Barbara Ehrenreich.

It contains over 100 speeches, streamed using RealAudio, from the 1930s to the present day, with accompanying transcripts. The subjects include Winston Churchill, Martin Luther King (including ‘I have a dream...'), Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr., Earl Warren and Franklin D. Roosevelt, but the majority of speeches are by John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard Nixon, with a selection of Watergate recordings. The site is a model of clarity and a good illustration of how to present oral history on the Internet.
