The FVDD consists of digitised documents relating to the distribution and promotion of artists’ film and video in the UK from the mid-sixties, by organisations such as the London Filmmakers Co-op, The Other Cinema, LVA, Cinenova, etc . Particularly useful for research purposes, the database is searchable by author, title or date and documents are mainly accessible in pdf format. Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the FVDD is a collaboration between the University of Sunderland and the British Artists’ Film and Video Study Collection at the University of the Arts London, since the digitised documents provide an institutional history which complements the Study Collection’s own database and holdings of artists’ work, papers, materials and catalogues.

In May 2016 the Open University Worldwide online store posted the following:
"Unfortunately Open University Worldwide Limited has decided that product sales are no longer viable given the reduced funding to Higher Education institutions and diminishing demand for the products we have traditionally stocked. At present the Open University Students Association (OUSA) will continue to sell the “Good Study Guide”, and we are in discussion with other possible distributors to continue to make The Open University’s products available for purchase. As soon as we have any information on other channels of distribution we will update this notice."
