Ghana’s Roosting Bird

Synopsis
A short film looking at what Ghanaian farmer’s have to battle with. Despite plentiful fields, cheap imports and a lack of support from the Ghanaian government means that farmers cannot easily supply their rice to their own nation. Shows an irrigation project in the Volta Region which has plentiful fields but even when a large percentage of the continent is starving these farmers are unable to compete. Some of the farmers stayed in the snake infested fields overnight because it was not economically viable for them to travel home.
