Learning on ScreenHilton: Palacio del Rio
- Synopsis
- The 21-storey Hilton Hotel in San Antonio, Texas, was built in nine months. This short construction time was made possible by pre-casting each room unit at a nearby pre-casting yard. Before being transported to site and lifted into position each unit was complete with doors, glazing, fittings, interior decoration and all furniture. Shows the construction of these concrete units and how they were assembled on site to produce a complete hotel.
