Synopsis
A training pack examining and illustrating the knowledge and skills required for managing employees who are absent for long periods from ill-health. A dramatised case study emphasises the managerial responsibilities for the personnel issues, balancing the needs of the individual against the burden placed on other staff by extended absence. Attempts are made to reconcile the employee to the realities of the situation and to see if alternative employment is available.
