Neural Networks and the Control of Dynamic Systems
- Synopsis
- The neural-net computing approach toward the control of dynamic systems is model-based and feedforward. This is in marked contrast to the traditional closed-loop feedback control approach. This new and different mode of systems control is explained. The video shows how to acquire a neural-net model of a dynamic system, how to use that model to predict and monitor system behaviour and determine needed control actions, how to plan and execute optimal control strategies, how to cope with noise and anticipate the onset of chaotic behaviour, how to use advanced neural-net computing techniques for real-time adaptive control, and how to verify understanding, using examples such as the inverted pendulum.
