Isolation and Purification of Dna
- Synopsis
- Shows the process of isolating high molecular weight genomic DNA from bacteria. This involves lysis of bacterial cells, dialysis, alcohol precipitation, and spooling DNA onto a glass rod. Then DNA is phenol/chloroform extracted and ethanol precipitated from a restriction enzyme digestion reaction, a very commonly used procedure. Shows microdialysis of DNA and discusses the availability of commercial kits.
