This guide is designed to take users and Off-Air Representatives alike through the steps required to place an order with the BUFVC’s Off-Air Back-Up Recording Service.

To begin, run a search for the programme, series or subject you require*. From the results page, simply click the title of the programme required.

Once you’re in the full record page, scroll to the bottom, where you’ll find the ‘Request this programme’ button. On the next page you’ll be asked to supply your name, as well as select your occupation or student status from the drop-down. This is also where you can choose the format you’d like to receive. Video content is supplied as DVD by default, but for uploading programmes to your VLE, we recommend opting for Mp4. Radio programmes are supplied as Mp3s.

Once you’ve completed your details, SUBMIT your request to passed it to your institution’s nominated Off-Air Representative, who’ll review and sanction the order. Note that if you’re logged in as an Off-Air Rep, submitting a request will send it directly to our Off-Air team. There is no need to sanction it through your Rep area.

For more information, and tips on other aspects of TRILT and the Off-Air Back-Up Recording Service, please see our companion videos and FAQ sheet.

*Programmes available for request through the service can be identified by the organisation’s logo.
