Play synopsis

A Jewish man is condemned to wander aimlessly through the ages. The four scenes are set in Jerusalem in A.D. 30; in Antioch, during the First Crusade; in Palermo, Sicily, 1290; and in Seville, 1560.

First performed on Broadway in 1921, and filmed by Maurice Elvey in 1923. Published New York: G. P. Putnam’s Sons, 1921.
