- Summary
- From the island of Timor comes a story of guerilla warfare, against the Japanese. A handful of Australians who had taken to the hills for over a year harassed the Japanese. Although outnumbered by 100 to 1 in two months they had killed more than 600, losing only 17 of their own men. They built their own radio from odds and ends, making frequent sorties through enemy lines for the main components. Eventually getting through to Darwin on the mainland who had thought them all to be dead, their identities were established. Supplies of food are immediately sent out to them, also money to pay the natives who had assisted them in their work. Meanwhile the natives go into action against other villages who had sided with the Japanese. The Australians are seen with their captain, Jeff Laidlaw.
