- Summary
- Planes being flown from Canada to Britain are tracked by Transatlantic Air Control on a movements board. On arrival landing instructions are given by radio telephone and, as on this occasion, a Liberator makes a safe landing. WAAF ground staff set about unloading kit and duty crews set about any servicing that may be necessary. The planes carry Government sponsored passengers and newly trained airmen from Canada. The planes’ crews write their reports while the planes are being refuelled and checked. Amongst passengers being instructed on use of oxygen masks for the flight back is Commander Anthony Kimmins. In the Met Office the ferry pilots check on the weather, before setting off for Canada once again.
