Summary
The 8th Army on the road that leads to Benghazi and beyond. On their way they meet with some resistance from Rommel’s men that are left. Bombed, battered and burning equipment is evidence of the wholesale destruction as a result of bombardment from hundreds of our guns and bombers. Thousands of prisoners are taken. On the coast of French North West Africa a mighty armada of ships carrying thousands of American troops is the start of the largest amphibious operation in history. A far reaching plan first conceived by Roosevelt and Churchill for the occupation of Algiers, Oran, Casablanca and many other bases from Mogador to the Tunisian border. Commander of the allied land forces in French North Africa is General Eisenhower.
