Summary
The production of the Lancaster bomber, showing the factory floor with machines and workers turning out parts of the aircraft. The Managing Director and Chief Designer looking at drawings in office of the Avro factory. Panel beaters at work, fuselage assembly, riveting, etc. Squadron Leader Nettleton VC with his crew of the Augsberg raid taking a look around the works and signing photographs for women workers. Gun turret assembly section and interior fitting department. Camouflage section as colours are sprayed on. In the final assembly various parts being checked then slowly put together. The Rolls Royce Merlin engines are the final things. Tractor pulling Lancaster out onto the tarmac and engines rev at start on tests. Lancaster taking off on test flight and low runs over airfield, air to air and then landing. Test crew during flight.
