Summary
After the initial shock of the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbour, America becomes wholeheartedly a nation at war. Japanese envoys Nomura and Kurusu are mobbed by the press at the White House where they had been having talks with the President. Crowds demonstrate outside the Japanese Embassy while official documents are burned by the staff. Army recruiting offices are opened and air raid precautions are practised. President Roosevelt signs Declaration of War against Germany and Italy and in a speech says we are going to win this war and we are going to win the peace that follows.
