Summary
Republican Day in Ankara sees the British Ambassador arriving, followed by the Soviet Ambassador, then representatives of Japan, Italy and Von Papen for Germany. President Inonu arrives and the parade begins. First a fly-past of planes of the Turkish Air Force, then a display of mass parachute jumping followed by the Turkish army with a column of mechanised troops and artillery.
