Compiled library reel, containing: Battle of the River Plate - Rescue of the "Altmark" prisoners - King and Queen on Clydeside - and the "Queen Elizabeth" [sic] dramatic voyage to New York - The Grand National - The Royal Navy’s victory at Narvik - The Disaster of Dunkirk - General de Gaulle became leader of all Free Frenchmen - German shells try to cripple our shipping - the Battle of Britain began and St Paul’s, the Tower of London and Buckingham Palace were made targets - Sergeant John Hannah became the youngest VC of the war - American sent 50 American destroyers in exchange for naval bases in the West Indies - Italy attacked Greece and were [sic] repelled - Roosevelt was re-elected for a third term - British children were evacuated to the Dominions - on Armistice Day Italian planes attempted their first attack on London and were completely routed by the RAF - The tragedy of Coventry - and names became famous like Squadron Leader Standford Tuck, Mungo Parke and Pilot Officer Stephens. Under the command of General Sir Archibald Wavell, British, Commonwealth and allied forces changed the whole course of the war with their brilliant victories in the Western Desert.
