Summary
In pre-war days one wouldn’t have thought of lighting more than two cigarettes with one match, but it’s a different story today. Matches are more expensive, but so are cigarettes, and cigarette rolling is the thing of today. Also watching how much sugar your girl friend takes in her tea, making sure there is enough left for you. And what of the contents of a man’s pocket now, whistle, ration card, petrol coupons, identity card, etc. And it’s fashionable to wear identity discs, on the wrist, or even the ankle.
