Story

Summary
Don Lidden from Mayo and Ernie Simmonds, Dublin, compete for the heavyweight championship of Ireland and the Kerry Belt. In the early rounds Lidden opened an old wound over Simmonds’ left eye and he seemed all set for victory, but in the tenth round Lidden retires with an injured hand, so the fight and the Kerry Belt go to Simmonds. In a ten round contest Kid Berg of London meets Paddy Rush of Cork. In this exciting match Berg is only just ahead on points, when Rush retires with an injured shoulder, giving Berg the match.
