Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Cavalier Wrecked. DESCRIPTION: The survivors arrive in New York. SHOTLIST: Library shots of the flying boat. The rescue ship, oil tanker "Esso Baytown" steams into New York with the survivors on board. Captain Frank Spurr of the tanker is plied with questions and says a few words. Then Olaf Anderson, the Chief Mate also recalls his experiences. All the survivors pose and Neil Richardson the first officer of the plane pays compliments to the rescue ship. The women, who lost their husbands, Mrs J Gordon Noakes and Mrs Donald Miller are assisted ashore. Background shots of New York harbour are very good (skyscrapers etc).
