MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Armistice Day, 1938. DESCRIPTION: Movietone’s Armistice Day Tribute. Written by Gerald Sanger Delivered by Leslie Mitchell SHOTLIST: Large crowds assemble in Whitehall for the annual Armistice Ceremony, which is attended by the King, the Duke of Kent and the cabinet and watched by Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth. His Majesty lays his wreath and then Mr Neville Chamberlain pays his tribute. Big Ben tolls, a maroon is fired and the two minutes silence is observed. Then the Reveille, "God Our Help in Ages Past" and then a march past of ex-servicemen. A montage introduction and ending are included in the story showing clouds, trees, graves and peaceful countryside.
